Analyze vocal pitch and tune instruments with exact sub-Hz precision.
Discover the exact musical note and frequency of any sound. Whether you are tuning a guitar, testing your vocal range, or analyzing an audio sample, our pitch detector online delivers studio-level accuracy directly in your browser.
Singers and vocal coaches use our vocal pitch monitor to practice hitting notes perfectly. Just sing into your microphone, and the screen will instantly display the closest musical note (e.g., C4, G5) along with how many 'cents' you are off by, helping you correct your pitch in real-time.
Why buy a physical tuner when you have a highly sensitive online guitar tuner in your pocket? Play a string, and use the visual dial. If the needle goes to the right (+ Cents), your string is too tight (Sharp). If it goes to the left (- Cents), it's too loose (Flat). Adjust until the needle is green and centered.
In music theory, a "cent" is a unit of pitch equal to 1/100th of a semitone (the distance between two adjacent notes on a piano). Our tool shows your cents offset. For example, if it says "+15 cents," you are slightly higher than the perfect pitch of the displayed note. A perfectly tuned instrument will read between -5 and +5 cents.
Sound travels in waves. The frequency (measured in Hertz or Hz) tells us how many times that wave vibrates per second. A standard "A" note vibrates at exactly 440 Hz. Our engine captures your microphone's audio stream and uses a mathematical algorithm called "Autocorrelation" to calculate these vibrations instantly.
