Get your instrument perfectly in tune without downloading any apps. Our online guitar tuner uses advanced pitch tracking algorithms to deliver studio-level accuracy directly in your web browser.
Don't worry about selecting which string you are tuning. If you select the "Guitar" preset, the engine will automatically listen and snap to the closest standard string (E, A, D, G, B, E), making the tuning process hands-free and extremely fast.
Playing in Drop D? Tuning a violin or a cello? Switch to the Chromatic tuner online mode. This unlocks the engine to detect every single note across the musical scale with precise sub-Hz frequency (Hertz) readouts.
Our tool utilizes the YIN Autocorrelation algorithm. It processes your microphone's raw audio buffer at high sample rates, providing an accuracy of ±1 cent, which rivals dedicated hardware pedal tuners.
Ensure you have clicked "Start Tuner" and granted the browser permission to access your microphone. Also, make sure you are in a relatively quiet room. Background noise (like a fan or TV) can confuse the pitch tracking algorithm.
A "cent" is a unit of pitch measuring the interval between two notes. There are 100 cents between adjacent notes on a piano. If the tuner says "-15 cents", your string is flat (too low) and needs to be tightened. Your goal is to get as close to 0 cents as possible.
